Helping Survivors Grow Stronger

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a 12-week research-based program that helps cancer survivors regain strength, overcome fatigue, increase flexibility, and connect with other survivors to create a support network. During the 12-week program, survivors and their caregiver(s) will receive a free membership at the Georgia Mountains YMCA. This program is designed to help adult cancer survivors regain their physical and mental health.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA will intake 12 participants for each 12 – week session. To participate, the survivor must have medical clearance from their oncologist or physical therapist.

  • Cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance, and flexibility exercises
  • Evaluation of fitness and quality of life assessments before and after participation
  • YMCA-certified instructors
