Swim Lessons

YMCA swim lessons emphasize water safety and skill development in a safe environment! We offer private, semi-private and group swim lessons so you can find a class that best fits your needs.

We believe that everyone should learn to swim so we have classes available for all 6 months and up.  Knowing how to swim offers a great way to stay in shape, to stay safe and offers a lifetime of fun activities.

Once you register for lessons you will be contacted to set up days and times for your lessons! We hold lessons Monday-Saturday and offer morning, afternoon and evening times.

Group Swim Lessons- Ages 3-5

Kids focus on body position and control, directional change, forward movement in the water and continue to practice how to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water. This class is for kids who aren’t yet able to do a front and back float on their own.

In this class, your child will:

  • Submerge to look at an object on the bottom of the pool
  • Front and back glide to the wall for 10 feet
  • Front and back float for 20 seconds
  • Roll from back to front and front to back
  • Jump, push, turn, grab
  • Swim, float, swim five yards
  • Tread water near the wall for 10 seconds
  • Exit the water

Children MUST be potty trained or wear a swim diaper.

 

Our group swim lesson package comes with 8 (30) minute lessons.

Semi-Private Swim Lessons

Our semi-private swim lesson package comes with 4 (45) minute lessons.

These lessons require TWO participants and you must register BOTH. Once you register, you will receive an email about your dates and times for lessons.
